Tour Plan

Upon your arrival in Arusha, the starting point of this birding expedition, you will be warmly welcomed. Your knowledgeable birding guide will meet you and facilitate your transfer to your accommodation. Take this time to rest and prepare for the exciting birdwatching journey that lies ahead.

Depart for Tarangire National Park, an exceptional birdwatching destination. Over the course of three days, you will explore the park’s diverse avian population. Tarangire is home to over 550 bird species, including the sought-after Yellow-collared Lovebird. These days will be filled with immersive birdwatching sessions, complete with full-day excursions and game drives. Your comfortable lodge or camp, located within or near the park, ensures a rejuvenating retreat each evening.

Next, venture into the world-famous Serengeti National Park, a sanctuary for both wildlife and birdlife. Over six days, you will have the privilege of witnessing the Great Migration if your visit aligns with this natural spectacle. In the Serengeti, you’ll encounter an array of raptors, storks, and passerines while exploring its diverse habitats. Each day will conclude with relaxation in a Serengeti lodge or camp, allowing you to relish the sounds of the African wilderness.

Your journey then takes you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where birdwatching is exceptional, with over 400 species recorded. The Ngorongoro Crater is a particularly rewarding location. Enjoy birdwatching excursions around the crater, marveling at its distinct habitats and the birds that thrive in them. An optional visit to a Maasai village for a cultural encounter can be arranged. Evenings will be spent in a lodge situated on the rim of the crater, offering stunning vistas.

Your memorable birding expedition concludes with a return to Arusha after breakfast. While back in Arusha, you have the opportunity to explore local markets and shops for souvenirs. This marks the end of your extraordinary 14-day Tanzania birding adventure.

This 7-day adventure offers a comprehensive journey through northern Tanzania's wildlife-rich destinations, including Tarangire, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. It provides a mix of birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and cultural experiences, ensuring a well-rounded exploration of this remarkable region.
